After several failed attempts to find the perfect t-shirt for Harley, her new boston terrier puppy, Kira Stackhouse dug out her sewing machine and decided to make her own - she wanted to make something different, something basic and stylish.
Scutte began as an idea to create a pet apparel company that would offer simple everyday basics for pets. Kira went to the thrift store and bought a bunch of tshirts. Originally she just planned on using them to figure out a pattern, but it quickly dawned on her that a treasure trove of tshirts were out there waiting to be transformed! She finalized her patterns and Harley's wardrobe grew quickly. After receiving many compliments on his attire at puppy school and out on the town, Scutte was born.
We believe in sustainability, and we're proud to be a very leave a very small paw-print. After our shirts are all sewn up, we use as much of the fabric remnants as we can to make cute catnip toys.
All of our items are one-of-a-kind and handmade with love in the San Francisco Bay Area.
